On October 25, 2023, the National Agro-Forestry-Fishery Quality, Processing, and Market Development Department (NAFIQPM), the HCM City Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and SAFEGRO organized a workshop to discuss the results of the gender-based value chain assessment on the food safety of seven value chains in four commodities (vegetables, pork, chicken, and fishery) that serve the Ho Chi Minh City market.
The workshop shared survey results and upgrade recommendations for each value chain. Gender lenses have been used throughout the value chain assessment, analysis, and intervention strategies. SAFEGRO will soon develop action plans for selected value chains with the ultimate aim of upgrading food safety in the value chains.
The activity is part of the improved competitiveness of agro-production and business establishments in supplying safe agri-food products to markets.
SAFEGRO – Empowering Vietnamese population to have better access to safe and affordable food, with an emphasis on supporting poor farmers and women.
