The Safe Food for Growth Project

Funded by Global Affairs Canada, the Safe Food for Growth (SAFEGRO) Project seeks to enhance the Vietnamese population’s access to safe and competitive agri-food products, with an aim to improve the well-being of female and male consumers as well as other agri-food sector actors. SAFEGRO is implemented by Alinea International in partnership with the University of Guelph.

What we do?

The design of the project is in response to the request of the Government of Vietnam on its food safety priorities identified during the process of implementing the Law on Food Safety of 2011 and its subsequent decrees and circulars. The project will promote the pro-active participation of diverse stakeholders including Government agencies, the private sector, academia, civil society, NGOs, and the media in jointly addressing food safety challenges in Vietnam and supporting Vietnam in  meeting international food safety standards.
