SAFEGRO connects Vietnamese ministries and leaders with Canada’s renowned food safety management system
From November 18 to 29, 2023, the Canadian-funded SAFEGRO project supported senior leaders from three ministries responsible for food safety management in Vietnam (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Ministry of Health), Government Office, Ministry of Justice, along with food safety managers from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities, to visit with several food safety management agencies and units in the agri-food value chains in Canada.
The visit to Canada provided a wealth of information and inspired Vietnamese leaders with numerous ideas to establish a robust food safety system, prioritizing the health of Vietnamese consumers in accordance with international practices.
