Since 2017, the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology has been organizing the “Better Process Control Training”, with an average of two sessions held each year. The training, held from November 28, 2024, to December 1, 2024, was successfully conducted, attracting 25 participants from 16 companies in the food processing industry.
Notably, this year’s training received financial support and lunch subsidies from the Safegro Project, facilitating the participation of attendees from the involved companies.
The training focused on the processes involved in the production of low-acid and acidified foods, aiming to equip participants with specialized knowledge and help food companies comply with the regulations set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This four-day course, approved by the FDA, covered the following key topics:
-
- Requirements for food processing in Vietnam.
- Heat processing techniques to minimize food safety risks.
- Export standards according to the regulations of the FDA (USA) and Canada.
This course provides significant value to factories involved in the processing and packaging of low-acid and acidified foods in sealed containers. Participants who scored over 70% in each module will receive a Completion Certificate, meeting the FDA and USDA-FSIS training requirements.
Upon completion of the training, participants conducted surveys and expressed high satisfaction with the content quality and teaching methods. They also extended their gratitude to the Safegro Project for its generous support. In the future, the Safegro Project and the training organizers will continue to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of this training.
Below are some images and feedback from the participants about the training program.

“On behalf of all participants in the BPCS training program, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Safegro project for its generous support.
The BPCS training, held at Nong Lam University in Ho Chi Minh City, is an FDA-approved program conducted in collaboration with the Consumer Brands Association (CBA). This training provided essential knowledge on processing low-acid and acidified foods, helping food companies comply with stringent FDA and USDA-FSIS regulations. The course has equipped us with crucial insights into controlling food production processes in line with international standards. Under the expert guidance of experienced lecturers, we have acquired practical and valuable skills that will undoubtedly benefit our professional growth.
We are particularly grateful for Safegro’s financial assistance, covering 50% of the tuition fee (6.5 million VND one slot per company) and providing daily living support (500,000 VND for 4 days). This support has been a significant encouragement, enabling us to complete the program successfully.
Once again, thank you to the Safegro project and the lecturers. We hope more learners will have the opportunity to benefit from such valuable programs in the future.
Best regards,”
